The colors for Yorkshire Medley stem from classic Northern England scenes experienced by Jeri and Irina. Each skein of yarn is hand-dyed by Jeri or Irina in order to keep a touch of handmade in the process. Originally released with only 3 dyed colors, and one natural undyed color, this yarn is now available in 15 dyed colors and one natural undyed. We look forward to expanding our yarn weights and colors as we grow.
Below is the original colorway inspiration board that was put together with photos of Yorkshire that Jeri and Irina adore. There is a swatch of computer generated color, and then the color that was actually achieved in the dye pot.
Process
Wound off of cones, the undyed Yorkshire Medley waits to either be tagged as Elderflower, or popped into the dye pot.
The completed yarn then gets tagged and input to inventory before moving onto the shelves at the Flying Fibers yarn shop.
Into the dye pot it goes!
Yorkshire Medley is then ready to knit into something that will last!
